A Daily Prayer Thought (November 1, 2015)

In His moving prayer recorded in John 17, Jesus prays for unity.  His prayer is not only for His disciples, but for all who would believe on Him through their messages.  He prays “that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.”  Our Lord gives the reason for this prayer.  He prays, “May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them, just as you have loved me.”  The love that Jesus’ followers have for each other, and the unity that is the expression of that love, are the two main evidences that Jesus has been sent by God, and that we are His disciples.  As we pray today for those who have gathered in Bangkok, let us pray that the love that they show for each other will be a powerful testimony that Jesus is truly the Son of God.
